Green Dirt Farm

Every Green Dirt farm order is shipped FedEx Second Day on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Orders are packed by hand in reusable, heavy-duty styrofoam coolers. Frozen gel packs are added to keep things cool, then everything goes into a shipping carton before it heads your way via FedEx. This helps explain why we don't ship on Thursdays and Fridays, right? Gel packs don't stay frozen forever, and sitting in a warm warehouse over the weekend is not conducive to delicious cheese.

On a related note: it's important that you or your gift recipient be available to receive your order on delivery day. Just as leaving your package in a warehouse for a few days isn't a good idea, leaving it outdoors on what may be a hot day is a recipe for disaster. If in doubt, consider shipping to a business address or ask a neighbor to pick it up for you. We recommend that your cheese be refrigerated within a couple of hours after delivery.

Be aware that FedEx will not require a signature for residential deliveries. The courier will leave your package if no one's home and if he or she feels it's safe to do so. Deliveries to apartment buildings are trickier. If a doorman isn't available to receive your order, FedEx may not leave it ... which means delivery could be delayed by at least one day, and possibly longer.

Shipping Zones and Fees

Shipping fees are based on the weight of the entire order and the zip code of the ship-to address. Your fees will be calculated during checkout. Remember: all orders ship FedEx Second Day.

Sorry, we cannot ship to Alaska, Hawaii, US territories or outside the lower 48 US states.

If we need to reship an order, please understand that delivery fees are the responsibility of the buyer.
