At 1:06pm on Monday, August 21st complete darkness will fall upon Green Dirt Farm. As the moon passes between the earth and the sun a stunning celestial spectacle is revealed; shadows appear sharper, the air becomes cooler, strange colors paint the sky, and a canopy of stars emerges in the middle of the daytime. The total solar eclipse is best viewed along the “Path of Totality”. Green Dirt Farm sits directly on this path where we will bask in the shadow of the eclipse for a full two minutes and four seconds.
We believe that a phenomenon this incredibly rare and beautiful deserves a monumental celebration. We teamed up with our friends at The Rieger to bring you our largest and most anticipated event to date. . . Black Sheep in the Shadow. This spectacular day festival will feature live music by The Cowardly Lions, daring freakshow-style performances, an enticing meal of roasted pig and lamb from Howard Hanna and The Rieger, unique and varied vendors, and one of the greatest views of this once-in-a-lifetime total solar eclipse.
Tickets include your delicious meal prepared by Howard Hanna and the Rieger Team, eclipse viewing glasses, and the shuttle ride to the farm from the parking lots in Weston. Alcohol will be sold separately at this adult only event. Ticket holders will be emailed exact details in the coming weeks, including detailed directions for parking. Be sure to follow us on Facebook for even more announcements and surprises.
We can’t wait to see you at the farm for this stellar festival of astronomical proportions!
