We joined forces with The Rieger to bring you Black Sheep in the Shadow. This astronomical day festival will feature live music, freakshow-style performances, an enticing meal of roasted pig and lamb, unique vendors, and one of the best views of the total solar eclipse.
We host tours of our farm and cheese kitchen Thursday through Sunday, by appointment.
Tours are $10 per person. Min 4, Max 16 people.
Your tour will include a guided look at our pastures, a glimpse inside our milking parlor and a view into our cheese kitchen, followed by a tasting at our retail shop in Weston. Your host will describe the story of how we turn our flavorful milk into delicious cheeses and answer all your questions about our practices and products.

You will meet your tour guide at our shop in Weston and caravan together out to the farm- about 4 miles away. After the tour you will return to our shop for the tasting portion of the tour.
*Please understand that, for biosecurity reasons, we can’t allow visitors to pet or approach our animals. Because of our infrastructure limitations our tour is not ideal for children under 8 years of age.
**We are sorry to say that, as a working farm, we are not well prepared for individuals with restricted mobility. Our farm is very hilly and the terrain is rough with gravel only for paths and drives. Guests will need to walk up steep, uneven paths and negotiate over or around obstacles during the tour.

Watch for directional signs.Navigating via GPS sometimes results in a longer and more circuitous route. These directions should make your trip easier. The address to our events barn is: 19915 Mount Bethel Road, Weston MO 64098
Once you pass through Weston, directional signs displaying our logo will help you find your way to the farm.
Take I-29N to Exit 20, toward TRACY/WESTON. Turn LEFT onto MO-273, following signs (sharp bend to the right) for MO-273N (4.7 miles).
Turn RIGHT at the traffic light and “Historic Weston Welcome” sign on MO-273/MO-45 (4.8 miles).
Continue through Weston, then turn RIGHT onto DYE STORE ROAD, immediately past a short concrete bridge over a creek (.2 miles). Turn LEFT onto MT BETHEL RD, a gravel road (0.9 miles).
Proceed up the hill and follow the winding road, then turn right into the driveway when you see our sign.
Estimated drive time from Downtown Kansas City is about 45 minutes.
You may purchase tickets to all Cheese Appreciation Events, Farm Table Dinners and Farm Tours right here on the Green Dirt Farm website. Each year, Cheese Appreciation Event tickets are available for purchase starting in early April and Farm Table Dinner tickets go on sale on Earth Day at 9am.
Tickets are non-refundable and available on a first come, first served basis. Occasionally, someone who has purchased tickets needs to sell them. The best place to watch for those opportunities is on our Facebook page.

Cheese Tasting Events take place in our beautiful covered barn just north of Weston, Missouri, located about 35 miles north of Kansas City. The series of seasonal cheese tastings feature the best regional, small batch American cheeses and other locally handcrafted foods. Each event is designed around a specific food, beverage or style of cheese. Our tasting events are a fun and casual way to experience some truly remarkable flavor combinations.
Attendees learn about and sample cheeses crafted by Green Dirt Farm and other artisan American cheese makers. You will learn about the history of the cheese, the style, and the farm or creamery where it was produced. We partner with local breweries, wineries and distributors to provide insights into beverage choices. And, again this year, we’re teaming up with the brightest stars of this area’s food scene with new events as well as our well loved themes from previous seasons.
Every Farm Table Dinner is a one-of-a-kind dining experience. Held in the fully covered barn on our farm just north of Weston, Missouri, a Farm Table Dinner is a feast for all your senses. Your dinner will start with a sampling of one of our most delicious cheeses, passed hors d’oeuvres and a seasonal “cocktail”, served while you enjoy the beautiful setting of our farm and entertainment from talented local musicians. You will meet our local guest chef as he or she prepares dinner. You’ll also meet your fellow guests and the farmers and food artisans who have contributed to the dinner.
Once all guests have arrived, we will sit down at the harvest table to a four-course plated dinner prepared by the guest chef that features our grass-fed lamb and award-winning artisan cheeses. In keeping with our focus on local food culture, other ingredients—such as produce—are sourced from area farmers. Each course will be paired with a carefully selected wine, beer or cocktail. At each course, the chef will discuss the ingredients used and where they came from, and what inspired each dish.
The reception portion of each dinner typically begins at 6:00 p.m. We will sit down and begin dinner at approximately 7:00 p.m. Dinner usually lasts a couple of hours. Entrees are served just as the sun is setting. Depending on the season, some mid-summer dinners may start later in the evening. After dinner guests often linger to enjoy the candlelight and pastoral setting of the barn.
Up to 38 people sit at a single long harvest table or on cozy side tables in our fully covered barn. Seating is first come first served.
Each Cheese Appreciation Tasting Event is offered on a Saturday and some are offered again on Sunday from 3:00-5:00 pm (unless noted otherwise).
Farm Table Dinners begin with a reception at 6:00 p.m. We will sit at the harvest table and begin the four-course plated dinner at approximately 7:00 p.m. This portion of dinner usually lasts a couple of hours. After dinner, guests are encouraged to linger and enjoy good conversation with each other or to simply count the stars.
Cheese Appreciation Event tickets are $65-$85 per person. Farm Table Dinner tickets are $200 per person. All tickets are non-refundable.
Tickets to Cheese Appreciation Events include cheeses, any beverage pairings, accoutrements and presentation fees.
Tickets to Farm Table Dinners are all inclusive, including a reception with a sampling of our cheese, passed hors d’oeuvres along with a seasonal “cocktail”, a four-course plated dinner with wine or beer pairings at each course, featured chef and service staff fees, and gratuities.
All payments must be made online through our website. You may pay with Visa, Mastercard or American Express. Sorry, we cannot accept cash or checks.
Because seating is limited to 38 people per dinner, we suggest that, if you have more than 8 people in your party, you contact firstname.lastname@example.org about arranging a private event for you. We do assign seating. In order to be sure you can sit next to members of your party, please be sure to let us know your preferences by emailing us at email@example.com.
Though purchased tickets are non-refundable, they are transferable. Feel free to post your ticket availability on our Facebook page.

Excessive temperatures—too high or too low—may result in cancellation. We make every effort to create a comfortable environment in the barn, but Mother Nature occasionally wins.
We may also choose to cancel an event if too few tickets are sold. In either event, we’ll make the decision a few days in advance and notify guests by telephone. Ticketholders may opt to attend a future event or receive a full refund.
All events are held rain or shine in our fully covered barn. Parking is a very short walk from the barn.
Tours of the farm are generally not included with Cheese Tasting Events or Farm Table Dinners, except for a few specific events (Please see the specific event description). However, there will be a presentation about our farm given by a Green Dirt Farm host, and we will be available after the event to answer your questions.
